E-mail Settings

Why is it important to use the correct e-mail settings?

When you are using a wireless connection without security (or with a weak security), data packets can be intercepted. These data packets contain the data of your e-mail message, but also your user name and password.

When using encryption, this intercepted data is not usable by the interceptor. Thus both your e-mail message and credentials are safe.

To make sure you are using an encrypted connection, use the following guidelines

E-Mail Client

Incoming Mail Server
Account Type: POP3 or IMAP

Incoming mail server: mail-domainuser.xitehosting.be
Port: 110 (POP3) or 143 (IMAP)
Encryption: TLS
User name: E-mail address

Outgoing Mail Server
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail-domainuser.xitehosting.be

Port: 587
Encryption: TLS
Require authentication: Check
Use same settings as my incoming mail server: Check

If you don’t know your incoming or outgoing server. Go to your webmail page (http://webmail.domain.tld). The server will redirect you to the secure page. This page’s URL will have the same format as the mail servers above.

Webmail and Control Panel

When accessing the webmail page or the control panel, your browser should show a padlock next to the web site url at the top.
